PotterCast 89: Mama Noe in the House Transcript
Opening (0:00 - 3:45)
Melissa Anelli (MA): On our way down to New Orleans...
Sue Upton (SU): Woo-hoo!
MA: This is PotterCast Eighty-nine! Welcome! Welcome, welcome, welcome, PotterCast Eighty-nine. I'm Melissa, I'm here with John and Sue, and we're really just doing this for fun, because we can't wait until PotterCast in New Orleans! This is just sort of a filler. (laughs)
John Noe (JN): Woot!
SU: We need to have some jazz music, and throw out some PotterCast beads, or something. Hey, y'all!
MA: We're checked out, already. I'm really- I'm already there.
JN: I want PotterCast beads! Let's make PotterCast beads! (SU laughs)
MA: PotterCast beads.
JN: Yes!
SU: That'd be awesome!
JN: I want to be able to hold onto a stash of PotterCast beads that (MA: I'm already there.) I'll be able to hand out to people for just being (MA: Drinking fabulous New Orleans coffee.) fabulous, exactly.
SU: Yeah, that's right.
MA: Okay. Anyway, so, as we've already announced, next week's show will be live from New Orleans. If you can't go to the Phoenix Rising convention, that's okay; You're gonna hear the PotterCast live from the opening feast of Phoenix Rising, right here on PotterCast. So, we can't wait for that. (JN: Woo-hoo-hoo!) Matt, who is The Whomping Willows. Check it out, (SU: Yay!) I got it right! Matt, who is The Whomping Willows will be doing an acoustic set, so will Brian from Draco and the Malfoys. (laughs)
SU: (laughs) Almost, almost.
JN: These guys are getting so much free publicity out of us lately. Didn't you tell them what the going rate was? Come on! (SU laughs)
MA: Don't worry, we got it all settled out privately.
JN: It's a burrito a week, I think, isn't it?
MA: (laughs) A burrito a week.
SU: No!
MA: No, but they- actually, we've been talking, and they've got some really fun and funny stuff planned for the show, so we can't wait. (JN: Yeah.) And we've got in this show this week, (JN: Oh, Draco.) we have a Scribby 5 about socks!
SU: Socks?
JN: Socks!
MA: And an all-new fan interview. So, let's hear from some people at a bookstore.
JN: The people who actually give us the burrito a week. (SU laughs)
MA: They give us more than a burrito a week.
JN: (laughs) They certainly do!
BORDERS AD
JN: Today's PotterCast is brought to you by Borders. It won't be long before the much-anticipated release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Do you have your mind made up about where Severus Snape's loyalties lie? Do you think he'll betray Harry and his friends? Or will he help them to triumph over He Who Must Not Be Named? Find out more about this complex character in the hot, new book, The Great Snape Debate, available only at Borders. Remember to reserve Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Borders to save 40%.
MA: I have a public service announcement. (SU laughs) It's Snape.
SU: (singing) Snap, Snape!
MA: Not "Snap." I feel the need to correct this because I am sure that many people listening to this will have heard John say that, and think it was actually "Snap," so I'm just telling you.
JN: (laughs) And if they what? I said Snape, didn't I?
MA: Snape, John, Snape.
JN: Snape, yeah!
SU: (singing) You say Snap, I say Snape, let's call the whole thing off!
MA: Who let you on a Harry Potter podcast? (JN laughs) Who did that?
JN: Oh...
SU: I think it was you.
MA: Was that me? I'm firing myself right now.
JN: No, that was just tribute to a very big PotterCast fan, one of our older fans, who calls him Snap. I'm not sure why, but she refers to him as Snap.
SU: (laughs) That was his nickname when he was little. "Snappy! Hey, Snappy! Snap!" I don't know, maybe not.
JN: (snaps fingers) Snap.
MA: How about we get some news from the Suze?
JN: I love some news from Sue!
SU: Whee!
