PotterCast 87: Trailer Talk Marathon Transcript
Opening (0:00 - 3:30)
Melissa Anelli (MA): Completely overwhelmed with Order of the Phoenix trailers, this is PotterCast Eighty-seven.
Sue Upton (SU): Wow.
MA: Welcome! Welcome, welcome, welcome! I'm Melissa. I'm here as usual with John and Sue and one very special return guest, our friend from DarkHorizons.com, Garth.
John Noe (JN): Garth.
Garth Franklin (GF): He's (SU: Yay Garth!) back!
JN: We love Garth.
MA: We drag Garth into the spotlight whenever there is a movie thing to talk about or significant...
GF: Whenever there's a (SU: Yeah!) trailer is around, I'm around.
MA: Yeah, a trailer. It's always trailer talk with Garth on PotterCast. (JN: Woot!) So this week, we have a fan interview for you and then the rest of the whole show is about these two gigantic trailers. Only Harry Potter fans could take five minutes of film and talk about it for weeks. (SU: Yeah.) So (JN: Hmm.) before we get to that, (laughs) let's here from our friends at Borders 'cause they are sponsoring us.
Borders Ad: Today's PotterCast is brought to you by Borders. It won't be long before the much-anticipated release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Do you have your mind made up about where Severus Snape's loyalties lie? Do you think he'll betray Harry and his friends, or will he help them triumph over He Who Must Not Be Named? Find out more about this character in the hot new book, The Great Snape Debate, available only at Borders. Remember to reserve Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Borders to save 40%.
MA: Couple of quick announcements as usual. Phoenix Rising is coming very, very soon! Phoenix Rising is the convention that we'll be doing a live PotterCast at, May 17th in New Orleans. New Orleans. We're so excited. (JN: Woot!) Can't wait to see you there. We'll be doing something with Habitat for Humanity there. We might have some spots open. We'll let you know about that soon. During our live PotterCast at Phoenix Rising, will be Matt of The Whomping Willows- No, I'm sorry! Matt, who is The Whomping Willows. One day I will get that.
SU: (laughs) Everytime.
MA: Everytime. Uh! He's going to kill me. Brian of Draco and the Malfoys is also- they're both performing acoustic sets. Very exciting. After our live podcast, we're going to open a room somewhere around there in the convention hall. All the people who are in Wizard Rock bands are going to come with their acoustic guitars and we're going to sit on the floor and rock out and it's going to be a lot of fun. So, we will see you there. Vote for us on Podcast Alley. Vote for us on Digg. Go to HarryPotterSeven.com and read about Deathly Hallows and donate to our "Last Books, First Books" charity drive which goes on from now through July 21st. In other charity drive news, you can donate to. You can become a part of The Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club and get twelve CD's over the next year and have all your money go to charity. Also, Cheap Rent- oh, that's WizardRockClub.com. You can also buy a C.D. called "Wizards and Muggles Rock for Social Justice," which is being put out by the organization Cheap Rent at MySpace.com/cheaprent. Features original music from a ton of Harry Potter bands and it all goes to benefit the Harry Potter Alliance. Now, that's it. (SU: Yeah.) Right? Are we done with our announcements?
SU: I think so.
MA: People are sitting there tapping their fingers (SU: Yeah.) waiting for us (SU: Mm-hm.) to move on. (JN: Yep.) I think it's time to hear from Sue for the news!
JN: I want some news, Sue!
